School breaks can be hard on parents, but don't worry! I have a list that will save your sanity AND keep up your reputation as the "cool mom" this Spring Break.

Outdoor Adventures:

  1. South Carolina Aquarium- kids will love the hands on tough tank, the massive ocean exhibit, and the sea turtle hospital! Parents will love that it's downtown and close to yummy food and drink for after.
  2. Plantations: Learn about American and Charleston history while exploring enchanting gardens, landscapes, architecture, and more!
  3. Boone Hall Plantation
  4. Magnolia Plantation
  5. Middleton Place
  6. McLeod Plantation
  7. Drayton Hall
  8. Charleston Tea Gardens
  9. Cypress Gardens- Explore the lowcountry's most picturesque swamp that's been featured in several movies. Featuring trails, row boat rides, a butterfly garden, a large playground, and sooo much more!
  10. Beaches: Need I say more?
  11. Folly Beach
  12. Sullivans Island
  13. Isle of Palms
  14. Kiawah Island
  15. Angel Oak- An enchanting tree older than the United States of America itself is a perfect outdoor activity during the Spring.
  16. Palmetto Islands County Park- Features playgrounds, nature trails, and a splash pad
  17. Charleston Towne Landing- Combining history and waterfront views, it doesn't get much more picturesque than this
  18. Waterfront Park (Pineapple fountain)- A popular tourist attraction that has enough green space for your kids to run around while being close enough to all that downtown Charleston has to offer
  19. Charleston Aqua Park- If it's warm enough, kids can enjoy a floating obstacle course on the water
  20. Caw Caw Interperative Center- A great spot for birdwatching, spotting aligators, and learning about lowcountry wildlife.
  21. Hampton Park- Bring a picnic and some board games and spend the day smelling the camelias and azaleas while the kids play
  22. Go to a seasonal You-Pick farm:
  23. Pick Your Own Farm (This is a U-pick farm directory. I have noticed that many of the farms here do not have a website and you can only find them on social media or through a directory.)
  24. Francis Biedler Nature Preserve

Unique Experiences

  1. Fort Sumter Boat Tour- A fun boat ride to the historic fort, where kids can learn about the Civil War
  2. Charleston Pirate Tours- A kid-friendly walking tour led by costumes pirates, with fun stories and treasure hunts
  3. Ghost Tours- Spooky but fun story telling tours designed for kids
  4. Charleston Fun Park- Go-Karts, mini golf, and an arcade for a fun filled afternoon
  5. Fossil and shark tooth hunting with Palmetto Fossil Excursions- A one of a kind experience that will undoubtedly create core memories
  6. Sunset Dolphin tour with Charleston Outdoor Adventures- Spend an afternoon or evening on the water while searching for dolpins with your kiddos!
  7. Wannamaker Water Park- If it's warm enough, put on your swim suits and spend a fun day at the water park. Your kids will love you forever for this one.
  8. Bee City Zoo- Spend a day exploring exotic animals with your kiddos.
  9. Eudora Wildlife Safari- Go on your own Safari here in South Carolina!
